Taipei 101 is the second tallest building in the world. And rightfully so, one of the top attractions to visit while spending holidays in Taipei, it was a proud owner of few world records – still holds the world’s fastest lift. 101 floors above and 5 floor under the ground, the building reminds a bamboo cane and is constructed to survive even the more powerful earthquakes.
Get there either by public transport (Taipei 101/World Trade Center station) or by bus or just simply walk there. The skyscraper is one of the most crowded places in the whole city and we wholeheartedly recommend to plan your trip to the observatory deck carefully and book your tickets in advance or even get the priority pass (which we tried and it saved us one hour of wait out of total 2.5 hours before we got to the lift). The queues to the lifts are crazy in the late afternoons and kids and small babies will not be happy if they will have to wait for more than an hour. The priority pass isn’t valid for the way down, though the wait there is much shorter.
Small babies and children under 115cm are for free, all children above are for NTS450, adults are for NTS600 and priority pass for NTS1.200.
