The Petřín Lookout Tower, sitting on top of the Petřín hill, is a 63.5m steel framework tower, a miniature of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Built in 1891, the tower was used as an observation as well as a transmission tower. Currently opened for public, the tower is often visited by locals and tourists.
Located on top of the Petřin park, the tower is accessible either by cable car from Ujezd, or by foot direction from the Lesser Town, Prague Castle or from Strahov Campus (closest parking possibility). Whole Petřín park is one of the best places in Prague to relax in during hot Summer days. During Spring time whole hill is covered with blossoming trees, so get ready if anyone from your family is allergic. In case of snow, usually in January-February, some of the paths are being used for sledging, so walking up might be bit slippery (and dangerous).
Although the tower has an elevator for disabled people, i tis not allowed to bring buggies to the top observatory floor. Babies under 3 years are for free and there is no baby changing room available.
Once you get up to the hill, visit the Glass Labyrinth located approximately 100m from the tower. A nice playground is located just behind the brick Hunger Wall and second one is located close to the entrance of the cable car at Ujezd station.
