Originally surrounded by Vltava river on one side and moulds on the other, the Old Town was for centuries the centre of most important historical events and after only few minutes’ walk, you can admire thousand years of architecture.
Start at the Old Town Square with the Townhall and it’s astronomical clock that is a starting point while visiting Prague. Karolinum, part of the Charles University, State Theater, where Mozart´s Don Giovanni had it´s premiere or Klementinum with it´s magnificent library. There are only few parks to relax in the Old Town, so walk around the Jewish quarter, cross the Charles Bridge to the Lesser Town and then climb up to the Prague Castle.
It is quite easy to stroll around the Old Town, though most of the quarter is paved by cobble stones and we recommend to take with you light buggy and wear comfy shoes. In case you are not accommodated directly in the Old Town, hop on metro or tram to get there, as parking is very difficult due to restricted parking and blue zones.
You may also find few nice cafés with children´s playgrounds, such as Community and Maternity centre in Kampa, Café Mistral, Café White Crow (Bílá Vrána), Pizza Nuovo or Juliš swimming pool with nice play field.
