If you plan to visit Sacre Coeur through the famous steps starting at Place Sant Pierre, you will definitely need some help with a buggy, because there are many steps to reach the top. You can take the cable car (Funiculaire – Gare Basse) and then prepare your muscles to push the buggy on the flat "platforms" located next to the stairs. If you don’t want to take a detour, this is an option but these ramps are so steep, that it is almost not worth it. Second option is to come from Montmartre side, but that is a long climb as well, so we recommend to take the stroll through Rue Lepic on the way back to down to the Boulevard Clichy.
We walked to Sacre Coeur from Barbès - Rochechouart metro station and hoped to avoid the steps in the park, but at the end, there was no other way than to carry the buggy in our hand on two sections of the stairs. If you are traveling alone, then from this side, take the detour through Rue Paul Albert and Rue Lamarck.
