The Royal Palace is an exciting place for children and grownups alike and it is made up of the Royal Apartments, the Treasury, the Tre Kronor Museum, the Gustav III’s Museum of Antiquities, the Bernadotte Library, the Royal Chapel, the Royal Gift Shop, the Royal Guard, the Royal Armoury and the Summer Café. You can explore the museums on your own with your family or you can take part in one of the guided tours of the Royal Apartments or the Treasury.
The palace can be visited year-round. From May to September the opening hours are daily from 10:00 – 17:00 and from October to April Tuesdays to Sundays from 10:00 – 16:00. Children under the age of 7 enter free of charge. Children aged 7 – 17 pay an entrance fee of 80 SEK and adults pay 160 SEK. Tickets can be bought at the entrance or online in advance.
Be aware that you are not allowed to enter with your buggy. It must be left at western entrance of the Royal Apartments.
You can get to the Royal Place by subway exiting at T-Gamla Stan or T- Kungsträdgården or by bus Slottsbacken or Riddarhustorget.
